Last week was an interesting series of events for us, but the culminating point of our less than six months of operation was moving an entire roastery, after setting it up the first time around. Fun stuff.Image

Here we are setting up the roaster for the first time at our temporary location. September 2012.

Now we're at the gorgeous Realty Building, and we are more than excited to be part of this developing urban environment. On March 20th, we dropped our first roasted batches here, and are so happy to know that this is our home.

But how do you move an 1800 pound machine? We thought it would be interesting to tow it, and these towers where up to the challenge!

We have to say we have never seen anything quite like it, and neither had the towers, Luis and Mike. Thanks to them for an amazing job and being careful.

The new Downtown location is warm and inviting, and will very graciously accomodate our new training grounds, roastery, classes, and cafe. Even though we are still unpacking boxes, we set up our Barista competition tables that we built for the MockComp.

It is a definite improvement from our humble tin shack, but the experience we gained has been tremendous, and we are honored to share this odd experience with all of you. Come visit us soon enough.
