Keynote and Gamut

There is nothing more exciting for us than receiving a sample of a coffee that we have never tasted before. Whether it be a different country, region, cultivar, process, or grade; regardless of the differences, we always want to try the freshest crop available. Seasonality of coffee is what creates a challenge in offering a single line of coffee (like the Eucaliptos or the Guji) year around, but with meticulous and extensive tasting and cupping, it is possible to get fresh crop coffees and maintain a specific taste profile. There are two projects we have added to our Chromatic family, and we are ecstatic to share them with you. These offerings are an effort to maintain a level of consistency from the ever changing Single Origin offerings. Although we’re always anxiously awaiting the next great thing, there is something comforting and familiar about going to your favorite spot and knowing your coffee will be there.

The Keynote will be a coffee available year-round and will be a rotating single origin. Although some of the more subtle nuance may change from one season to the next, it will always maintain the same qualities and be a low toned chocolatey coffee. Our current offering is from Carmo de Minas, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, located in the southeastern region of the country. The farm is called Sertao, and is run by Luiz Paulo. The majority of the Cup of Excellence winners come from this region in Brazil, and we are happy to know that we can share such a lovely coffee with you.

The Gamut, on the other hand, is an espresso blend that will continually have that same heavy handed quality in the body and will always take well to milk. It will typically be made up of three different coffees and deliver a consistent taste profile.

We hope you enjoy the fruits of our labors, and know that from now on, Keynote and Gamut will be always available for your tasting pleasure.
